[Escher Duel Results]
Sep. 13th, 2016 12:34 amViewers were thrilled today as the duel between the mysterious Action Duelist, Escher, and long-time duelist from the days of Duelist Kingdom, Kajiki Ryota, proceeded to begin their match.
The field today was an ocean-covered wonderland with little opportunity for active movement, and while it was clear that Kajiki-san, who spent years at sea, had the advantage with his Mermail deck-- featuring his signature standby, Legendary Fisherman-- it didn't deter Escher's strategies.
A shocking moment came when she activated her "Krystal Potential" field spell, causing part of the water to freeze, but that wasn't it. Escher seemed to have mastery of using her field's effects upon the Action Field, and was able to manipulate it to create ice along the path that she wanted, incorporating ice skating into her movements. The audience marveled at her flexibility and agility as she collected Action Cards when necessary, and she soon overwhelmed Kajiki-san with her Crystron deck to win the duel.
The Crystrons, while a very new archetype, show a remarkable ability to Synchro Summon during the opponent's turn-- a method that has not been seen since the days of the World Racing Grand Prix, and Escher has shown that such methods are nothing to be trifled with.
Escher will be moving onto the Top 8 of the tournament. Will she show success during her next match, as she did with this? Stay tuned to find out.
