Viewers were thrilled today as the duel between the mysterious Action Duelist, Escher, and long-time duelist from the days of Duelist Kingdom, Kajiki Ryota, proceeded to begin their match.

The field today was an ocean-covered wonderland with little opportunity for active movement, and while it was clear that Kajiki-san, who spent years at sea, had the advantage with his Mermail deck-- featuring his signature standby, Legendary Fisherman-- it didn't deter Escher's strategies.

A shocking moment came when she activated her "Krystal Potential" field spell, causing part of the water to freeze, but that wasn't it. Escher seemed to have mastery of using her field's effects upon the Action Field, and was able to manipulate it to create ice along the path that she wanted, incorporating ice skating into her movements. The audience marveled at her flexibility and agility as she collected Action Cards when necessary, and she soon overwhelmed Kajiki-san with her Crystron deck to win the duel.

The Crystrons, while a very new archetype, show a remarkable ability to Synchro Summon during the opponent's turn-- a method that has not been seen since the days of the World Racing Grand Prix, and Escher has shown that such methods are nothing to be trifled with.

Escher will be moving onto the Top 8 of the tournament. Will she show success during her next match, as she did with this? Stay tuned to find out.

Viewers today were host to one of the possibly blunderous matches of the Action Dueling World Championship. Long Time Pro League Duelists Wakahisa, Akae and Saotome, Rei, clashed this afternoon in the Domino Stadium.

The Field was a veritable wonderland called "Edge of Fantasia" complete with floating island, a mechanical airship and a demon overlord's castle, making for high-speed action with a changing scenery for the two vets to clash.

The Match was as expected of both Duelists from their first rounds: A class between Saotome's "Mystic Egg Fantasy" Deck vs Wakahisa's "Undead Nobility" Deck. Up until Ms. Wakahisa's attempt to bring down Saotome's Mystic Magician with her Xyz Monster "Zombiestein".

As it turns out, due to a post script text on Zombiestein's card, it can't attack Female Monsters like Mystic Magician. This resulted in Zombiestein quickly being destroyed in counter and...

What has been quickly been dubbed by fans overseas as Ms. Wakahisa's "Benny Hill Scramble" in her rush to find an Action Card, which has gone viral due to her antics of running around and most notoriously her "Swan Lake" leap from the airship to an island to grab an Evasion Action Card.

While in the end, Wakahisa was able to win the duel using her Shiranui Shogunsaga to overwhelm Saotome's Mystic Dragon, the almost comical performance in the middle of this match is sure to color the career of a Duelist, who up until this point, has made her reputation on being a serious Gothic and Occult themed Duelist.

While it's unsurprising Wakahisa has reached the Top 8, many hope her next match doesn't repeat today's performance.
