Oct. 22nd, 2016 04:10 pmThe new Action Dueling World Champion, Isabel Marias, made her first public appearance since her victory over Yuuki Juudai today, with a surprise visit to the Domino Branch of Duel Academy. She was accompanied by Duel Academy teacher and senior SAI employee, Desdemona Oakley and a duel spirit, a Naturia Butterfly. Marias spoke to the students and faculty about a number of subjects, putting particular importance on the subjects of how she started her career as a duelist, how her life changed when she realized she was a psychic and her interactions with spirits on a regular basis and how she actually spent several years of her life living in another dimension. Perhaps the most notable reaction of the event came when she was answering questions from the students and one student asked if it was true that she had fallen off the structure that appeared in the sky five years ago, known as the Ark Cradle.
Marias answered that, yes, she and several others had gone up to the structure to stop it from endangering everyone in the city, and it was true that she'd fallen off. She then revealed that her arm and leg were both prosthetic, made of some kind of wood. Marias allowed several students to touch the prosthetic, then explained that she'd gotten them with the help of a duel spirit, and that that same spirit had helped her deal with the pain and trauma she'd had associated with her experience five years ago.
Before she left, Marias stressed to the students that it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from, as long as you love dueling and are willing to try your hardest, you can become a champion as well. She also encouraged the students to come to SAI if they wanted to learn more about spirits and psychics, hinting that, as she regularly spends time at at SAI "hanging out with my best friend, owlhead", likely referring to SAI's founder, Yuuki Juudai, they might run into her again if they come.
