The Action Dueling World Champion, Isabel Marias, returned to Domino City today. Marias had been traveling across Japan for the last two weeks, making appearances at schools and dueling communities with the championship to speak about a variety of subjects, mostly related to the supernatural. She also spoke about the "New Horizons" project being started by SAI. Despite not being medically cleared to participate in Action Duels yet, Marias participated in many exhibition duels during her trip, giving a number of local duelists and students an opportunity to face-off with the champion.

Marias spoke to the press when she returned to Domino:

On when she expects to be medically cleared to return to Action Dueling: "They said, 'wait until you're 100% to get back in, we don't want you re-aggravating anything anything'. Turns out I almost busted my knee up even worse when I dueled Juudai. I still got tape on my leg, but besides that, I'm feeling pretty good, so I think they'll let me off the leash soon."

On if she plans to take anymore trips, including trips out of Japan anytime soon: "I really wanna go back to Paris, but right now I need to focus on getting back in the ring with this title. It's only worth something if I defend it."

When she expects to defend it: "Soon. I know they're getting the rankings for the circuit ready and they're gonna be figuring out a challenger for me pretty close with me getting cleared."

Anybody in particular she'd like to defend against: "Heeeeeeh....I got a couple people I wouldn't mind facin'. There's a few people in the tournament I had my eye on that I didn't get a chance to get it on with. And there's a couple people I wouldn't mind having rematches with, either."

If that includes Yuuki Juudai: "Ah...man, I'd duel Juudai again in a heartbeat. But, he's got his own stuff. I think it'll be a while before I can drag him back into the ring."

On her relationship with SAI going forward and the New Horizons project: "The New Horizons project is really good. It's gonna give a lot of kids good experience dealing with the supernatural, both in Duel Spirits and in, y'know, other humans who have something supernatural about them, and both of these things are really important. I'm gonna be workin' with SAI a lot to help them with the project."

On the disappearance of Edo Phoenix: "It's pretty shocking. Edo and I ran into each other a couple times on the European circuit and we both lived here at the same time for a pretty long time. I consider him a colleague and a friend. I know a lot of people are very worried and some have given up hope that he's gonna be found, but all I have to say is, the Edo Phoenix I know is extremely intelligent, tough and resourceful. Wherever he is, I'm sure he's trying his hardest to get back to us. You gotta believe that. He's gonna make it back here."

When asked about the rumor of a major Action Dueling event being put together by Kaiba Corporation and Leo Corporation, Marias merely smirked and said that was all she had time for today.

A dueling event is scheduled for next week at the Kaibadome in Kaiba Land. As of right now, Marias is scheduled to make a non-dueling appearance at the event. Also scheduled for the event is Rei Saotome vs. Tyranno Kenzan, an appearance by United States Champion Clint Richter, a four-man Action Duel Battle Royale involving Strong Ishijima, Dinosaur Ryuzaki...
