...he was attacked by the former champion and the woman he took the title from, Isabel Marias! The two were quickly separated by security, after which Akaba Reiji left the building immediately.
In the meantime, immediately follow the incident, Marias invoked her mandatory rematch clause with Akaba Reiji! When reached for comment, Marias said she would "expose" Akaba Reiji when she defeated him and took back the Action Dueling World Champion! The match has not yet been scheduled, as Marias' attack on Akaba needs to be reviewed by the Pro League office and decide whether Marias will be given supplemental discipline for it. A suspension seems unlikely, but Marias could still face a fine for the incident, which would need to be sorted out before the duel could take place.
The champion was unavailable for comment, but is expected to speak on the incident, Marias invoking her rematch and her comments soon.
In other news, the advocate for the Duelist Crusher, Jean Michel Roget spoke today about his client's upcoming duel with the United States Champion, Clint Richter. Roget said in no uncertain terms that if Richter's wife and manager, Natalie Richter, are at all concerned for his health, given his heart condition, she should forfeit the duel on his behalf immediately.
