NPD Breaking News
Jul. 31st, 2017 03:37 pmNippon Professional Dueling has made an announcement. Following the championship duel for the Action Dueling World Championship last night, both of the challengers, Isabel Marias and Timur Vesik are suspended indefinitely, pending investigation into the events of the duel.
A spokesperson for the NPD said, "Our paramount concern is the safety of our fans. Until we have fully ascertained the truth of the events that occurred last night, both Ms. Marias and Mr. Vesik will be suspended indefinitely. We will work with authorities, private investigators and Ms. Marias, Mr. Vesik and Mr. Roget to come to the truth of what occurred during this duel."
When reached for comment over the phone, Timur Vesik's advocate, Jean Michel Roget said that he is "deeply disturbed" by this "unilateral and highly punitive decision" from the NPD. He strongly implied that if his client's suspension is not rescinded in time for the Duel Festival, they will "take their talents back to the Russian league".
When reached for comment via text, Isabel Marias said: "¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
