[Strong Ishijima vs. Aguila Del Corazon]

"Introducing first, from Maiami City, Japan, STRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNG ISHIJIIIIMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Had rock and roll music blared over the speakers as Strong Ishijima strode out towards the ring, chants of "STRONG-U!" "STRONG-U!" "STRONG-U!" ringing out from the audience in perfect concert. It proved, if nothing else, that he had a strong contigent outside of his home town. As he reached the ring, he responded by beating his chest several times and roaring to the audience. They responded with more cheers, before slowly becoming hushed as they waited for the next opponent.

New music started back up, and the crowd immediately began cheering again as another duelist came running out, a much more diminutive man than Strong Ishijima, clad in a mask, pumping his arms in rhythm with the music to continue firing up the audience.

"And his opponent! From Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico, he is the man with the heart of an eagle....AGUILA DEL CORAZON!"

As his name was announced, Aguila threw his arms up, then sprinted down to the ring, leaping up and somersaulting into the air, landing in the ring a short distance away from Strong Ishijima. He stood up and walked over to his opponent. Now that the two were face to face, it was clear that Ishijima absolutely towered over Aguila, by at least a full foot.

The official quickly explained the rules to them and asked how many life points they wanted. Aguila held up four fingers. Strong Ishijima nodded and held up four as well. The official nodded and keyed the amount into his own Duel Disk. Both duelist's life points were set to 4000. Then, he hit a button to select the Action Field.

An Action Card spun in the air...settling on a giant stone castle surrounded by a lake and a forest.

"The Action Field is Frontier Fang Castle!" The announcer shouted. The Real Solid Vision system took it from there, forming hard light constructs around the two duelists. The two rose up as the castle built beneath their feet. Once the field was finished...

"Duelists locked in battle! Kicking the earth and dancing through the air alongside their monsters as they storm through this field! Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution in dueling! ACTION...."

"DUEL!" Aguila and Ishijima announced simultaneously.
(Ishijima: 4000)
(Aguila: 4000)

Aguila took a step forward and held a hand out to Ishijima, who paused, clearly not having expected that. Aguila nodded towards his hand, encouraging Ishijima to take it. After a second, Ishijima reached out, grabbed his hand and the two shook. The audience cheered the show of good sportsmanship and the two duelists immediately backed up, getting distance from each other.

"I take the first turn!" Ishijima said. "I summon Granite Battleguard!"

---

(Ishijima: 4000)
(Aguila: 3200)

"I activate Feast of the Wild LV5!" Ishijima said. "I Special Summon Swamp Battleguard and Lava Battleguard from my hand!" The two warriors appeared, growling at Aguila's field, which only contained a lone Shield Wing (900 DEF). Meanwhile, standing behind Ishijima was his ace card, the behemoth Battleguard King (3000/1100).

"Aguila's been forced into a corner, here," one of the commentators said. "He hasn't been able to generate any of his normal high-flying offense up until this point."

"Of course he hasn't, because up until this point, Ishijima's controlled the pace of play! He's kept the duel inside the castle because he knows that if he lets Aguila get into that forest, he'll start flipping around and being able to grab Action Cards! Keeping it in the castle neutralizes Aguila's agility. Things like that, knowing your opponent, knowing the Action Field, it's the kind of thing that makes him a champion!"

"I activate Battleguard King's effect!" Ishijima declared. "I release Lava Battleguard and Swamp Battleguard!" The King smashed his club on the ground, the other two Battleguards vanishing. "Now Battleguard King gains two additional attacks!" He pointed at Aguila's field. "I could destroy your Shield Wing and attack you directly, but I don't intend to wait that long! Equip Spell - Spiked Club!" The club in Battleguard King's hand suddenly grew larger, with huge spikes jutting out of it. "Battleguard King gains piercing damage! GO! ATTACK SHIELD WING!"

"Shield Wing only has 900 DEF! He won't even need three attacks, he can finish Aguila off in two with this piercing damage!" The commentator said.

"Reverse card, open!" Aguila called. "Bolstering Gust! Once per turn, I can make a WIND monster's DEF equal to an attacking monster's ATK! Shield Wing's DEF becomes 3000!" A big gust of wind circled around Shield Wing (900 DEF > 3000), right before Battleguard King's club struck it, sending it into the ground.

"Spike Club's effect. When the equipped monster attacks...I can halve one monster's DEF!" Aguila looked, and noticed Shield Wing had been badly scared by the spikes on Battleguard King's club (3000 DEF > 1500 DEF).

"Hn." Aguila turned on his heel and started running for the edge of the castle, Shield Wing following after.

"Don't turn your back on me! BATTLE! Attack Shield Wing again!" With surprising speed, Battleguard King got in front of Aguila and struck Shield Wing again, sending the monster flying into its duelist and sending both crashing to the ground (Aguila: 1700 LP) (Shield Wing: 1500 DEF > 750 DEF).

"That's what's happened to Aguila ever time he's tried to get out of the castle. Now he's out of reverse cards and Battleguard King still has one more attack, and if it hits, it'll deal Aguila 2250 damage!"

"Ishijima's about to punch his ticket to the quarter-finals!" While the commentators seemed assured Ishijima's victory was inevitable, Aguila was crawling his way towards Ishijima.

"Hmn?" Ishijima asked. He pushed Aguila away with his foot. "There's no Action Cards this way, either," he said. "This duel is over. My next attack will finish it."

...then suddely, Aguila tucked into a roll, rolling between Ishijima's legs, leaping to his feet and wrapping his arms around Ishijima's waist.

"Hn?!"

Aguila let out a grunt of exertion, then lifted Ishijima right into the air by his waist and his leg, spinning them both around and slamming him down to the ground on his back. The audience let out an audible cry of shock and amazement at the show of physical strength.

"OH MY, BLUE THUNDER BOMB! AGUILA HIT HIM WITH A BLUE THUNDER BOMB!" The commentator screamed.
"Ishijima blocked him from pursuing an Action Card and Aguila countered, the official is saying its legal!" Meanwhile, Aguila was pulling himself back to his feet and looking around.

"Ishijima's stunned! Aguila's on his feet, this is his chance!" As Aguila ran back to build up speed, the audience started cheering. The cheers grew louder, as Aguila turned and sprinted towards the edge of the castle, leaping off towards the forest below. "AGUILA HAS TAKEN FLIGHT!"

Ishijima, with a hand on the back of his head, rolled over, trying to shake the spots in his eyes a way. He let out a curse as he realized his opponent had slipped away. He's going for an Action Card...!

"BATTLEGUARD KING ATTACKS SHIELD WING!" He roared. His monster lunged forward, swinging its club down on the winged-beast one more time. Aguila reached his hands out, grabbed a branch in the forest down below and swung from it to another tree, snagging a card off of t.

"Action Card - Miracle!" An aura surrounded Shield Wing. The club struck it, spiking it into the ground. But it got back up, afterward. (Aguila: 575 LP).

"Dammit...set one card, turn end!" Ishijima snarled.

"Aguila's finally gotten out into the open, but he's down to 575 life points and Ishijima still has 4,000! And Ishijima still controls Battleguard King! Can Aguila make a comeback?!"

"It's my turn...DRAW!" Aguila drew his card. "Magic Planter! I can send Bolstering Gust to the graveyard to draw 2 cards!" Aguila's trap vanished and he drew two more cards. His eyes widened behind his mask at one. Yes! "Tuner Monster - Turbo Synchron!" (100/500) He held a hand out. "Tuning my level 2 Shield Wing with my level 1 Turbo Synchron! SYNCHRO SUMMON!" (2+1=3) "Mist Bird Clausolas!" A giant green bird with huge yellow and black talons appeared on the field, letting out a shriek (2300 DEF). "Clausolas' effect! I can reduce one monster's ATK to 0! I target Battleguard King!" Clausolas shrieked again and swung its wings, kicking up a huge gust that knocked Battleguard King's club right out of its grasp (3000 ATK > 0 ATK).

He drained its ATK... Ishijima grimaced. But, even if he does attack, I'll activate Battleguard Howling...! He'll lose the rest of his life points in an instant!

"Activate Quill Pen of Gulldos! Return Shield Wing and Turbo Synchron to my deck! Your set card goes back to its hand!"

"What?!" Ishijima balked as his card vanished.

"Now from my hand...Special Summon, GUARDIAN EATOS!" A huge gust of wind kicked up around his field and an angel wearing a long skirt and a head dress that resembled an eagle's head flew down to Aguila's side of the field (2500/2000). "Equip Spell - Celestial Sword Eatos!" A blade appeared in Eatos' hand and immediately started glowing. "Eatos' effect...sending an equip card to the graveyard lets her banish 3 monsters from my opponent's grave and gain 500 ATK for each!"

"Shit...!" Ishijima knew what was coming and immediately started looking around. Meanwhile, Swamp Battleguard, Lava Battleguard and Granite Battleguard were being banished from his graveyard (Eatos: 2500 ATK > 4000 ATK). Ishijima's eyes widened as he saw one on the ground near him - an Action Card. He grabbed it and activated it.

"Action Magic - Miracle! This halves the battle damage!" He declared.

"This will halve the battle damage and let Battleguard King survive!" The commentator said. "It'll go back to 3,000 ATK at the end of the turn!"

"And Eatos will drop back to 2500, it'll get destroyed on Ishijima's next turn!"

Aguila looked up and looked around. The closest Action Card was up on a cliff, hanging over the water.

"There's an Action Card, but not even Aguila can jump that high from where he is!" The commentator said. Nonetheless, Aguilla balanced himself up on the branch and sprung off of it, towards the cliff and the Action Card. He wasn't anywhere close and was headed down towards the water...

...until his feet landed on the shoulders of a giant green bird.

"Oh!" The commentator exclaimed. "He's balanced on the shoulders of his Mist Bird Clausolas! He's gonna jump again!" Indeed, Aguila bent his legs again and took a flying leap into the air, landing and rolling on the cliff and immediately snapping a hand out and grabbing the Action Card.

"Action Magic - NO ACTION!" Aguila declared. "When an Action Magic is activated, it's negated and destroyed!" On Ishijima's field, Miracle began to have cracks running up it.

"What?!" Miracle suddenly shattered in front of him, its protection gone.

"Go, Eatos! EAGLE'S BLADE!" Eatos let out a cry as she swung her blade down on Battleguard King, slicing right through it. As the monster exploded, a shockwave threw Ishijima backwards. (Ishijima: 0000 LP - DEFEAT)

"THAT'S IT! THAT'S IT, IT'S AN OTK!" The commentator cried as Aguila's music started up again to raucous cheers from the audience. Aguila was beside himself, dropping down to his knees while pumping his fists excitedly. As the Action Field sunk away, Aguila ran over to the barrier separating the field and the audience. He climbed up on the barrier, waving his arms to the audience, who responded by cheering wildly. "AGUILA DEL CORAZON HAS UPSET STRONG ISHIJIMA! HE'S HEADING TO THE TOP 8!"

---

And with an upset victory over Strong Ishijima, the former champion of Maiami City, the young wrestler from Mexico is moving on to the top 8. After the victory, Aguila thanked Strong Ishijima for pushing him to his limit and thanked the audience for their support. After this upset, Aguila has, no doubt, put himself in the conversation to walk away from this tournament with the championship. He awaits the winner of the duel between Dinosaur Ryuzaki and "Kammen Shinshi", the Masked Gentleman.
