But I was generally raised as a squire of the small guard at a Temple of the Mandala Manticore, a chthonian goddess of vengeance. Not worshipped nor revered. It's on a rather large island in an island chain off of a continent.
A temple is a bit of a misnomer? There's an oracle there, as well as a well-established library and an open forum of learning, and a collection of prophecies of the Manticore's master and the oracle's declarations from the Manticore...
But the goddess herself, to worship her is to invite danger.
