[Event Post] Halloween Haunted Hotel Party at the Equinox

::Welcome, welcome to the costume party at the Equinox, which has a quasi Victorian air to it.

The party is located in the front foyer and the main garden grounds of the hotel, with tables of food and drink prepared, and plenty of conversation pieces. People are wandering about in costumes both elaborate and simple.

There's plenty of merry making, you should all gladly talk to one another, but if you're feeling risky, maybe venture into the closed Western Wing of the hotel that is under renovation.

If you're wondering who could afford to rent out the hotel for this nighttime event, it appears to be a group called the Tannhauser Society, which if you look it up, seems to be some generic something or other NGO or Charitable organization.

In the back of the Foyer is a Romanticism style painting of a red-haired maiden in armor with what appears to be Celeb Blade - Death Wild, leading a revolutionary pose. It adds to the antiquity of the building tonight, which adds a bit of a chill.

Otherwise there's general pumpkins, skeletons, bats, cauldrons and the like to add to the Halloween atmosphere.

The host is a cloaked figure with the name tag "Sister Fingers". Probably an elaborate costume.

But feel free to interact, nothing strange will happen tonight.::

*She actually looks pleased to see him. An actual face she recognises! Plus a fellow researcher type not in their natural habitat of books and papers.*

Hah, I'd usually not be the type for parties, but!

*he holds up a notebook* Parties, celebrations, holidays-- they're all part of the cultural research I do! Especially with this city having more than the average number of supernatural beings and experiences, I need to see how it affects a party like this.

And, you know, it gets me out of my room for a little while.

I'm not usually one for parties either, but I thought I'd push myself to go to this one.
But I've felt nothing but awkward since I got here.

Though, seeing it as a research opportunity is a really good idea.

Anything can be a research opportunity if you try hard enough, but these latter months are usually the most busy for me when it comes to it. I have to consider a lot of angles when it comes to cultural impacts, and the nature of how Fall and Winter work historically for people, there's usually a lot of customs to take note of--

Oh, uh-- yes, of course. I just haven't been getting much sleep right now. But I'm still trucking along just fine!

*She gives him a small smile.*

Well, as long as you're okay.

Oh, if only!

But I don't think a party is a place to get into that, really.

*She gives him a little nod, picking up that he wasn't wanting to get into the reason he was so tired.*

Though she's not in a costume, she's just... in her regular Duel Monster form. I guess Halloween is the one time she can get away with that without really being questioned.

*Yubel is, indeed, at the party. She came mainly for the free food, but she's taking delight in people coming over to her and 'worshipping' her 'incredibly well made costume', which isn't a costume at all.*

*A Yubel? He is interested in that-- Yubel didn't pop out physically during the whole confrontation issue, after all, so he doesn't realize who she's attached to quite yet. He looks and watches, a little bemused by the people's reactions.*

Oh, with how you reference to her, it sounds like you know her rather personally?

Yes. I've known her for quite a long time now. I guess you can say she lives with Judai, but she also works around SAI, though she's usually in her human disguise there.

Oh, she's with Yuuki! Somehow, that surprises me. All I really know him for are for those HERO cards he uses...

*Hnmm, I do feel like I've heard of a Yubel before... but the memories are so relatively ancient, and might not even match up anyway for here, if I think too hard about it. Ah, well...*

I guess anyone who knows his pro-dueling career probably don't know about Yubel. I don't think he used her in his pro duels, but they're bound together pretty strongly.

Oh, uh-- Does that mean Yuuki's here as well? If they're so close-knit.

Hmm... *She looks around for a moment.* ... I don't see him. He might've been too busy with his daughter to come.

Yubel's been trying to be a little more independent from Judai in recent years, I guess to develop a sense of self beyond him. Though she can only be physically so far from him. She's sort of like his protector.

So even if he's not here, he's still probably within a close enough radius to where this hotel is, effectively?

A protector though, huh... Like a shield?

*given how Juudai's a "hero", he's imagining him kinda like how a knight would be...*

Yes, I guess that would be an accurate way of seeing it. She's sort of like a shield for him.

And yeah, she's in a close enough radius here. I think if she senses he's in danger she can be with him in the blink of an eye.

Much be interesting, being a monster who can do something like that. My only, uh-- obvious experience with such a relationship was one that was too close constantly for comfort, but the idea that someone who is that bonded with another can still act independently is fascinating.

Of course, it depends on how their bond works...

I think for a long time she didn't think she could act independently. It's possible maybe she couldn't at first, but their trust in each other made it so?
That's mostly just theory though.

But it's definitely been fascinating watching her interact more with others. She's not always the easiest to get along with at first, until you get to know her, but it's been fun seeing her actually interacting with others outside of Judai.

She's probably very amused that no one knows she's a real Yubel.
