Those are ridiculous reasons you describe there. Resa may not be around as often as she'd like, but it doesn't mean she doesn't care. Kirby has the capacity to care about more than one person. And Juudai may not have the sharpest brain, but he has a heart, as well.

Vanuatu cares for noone truly outside of Mr. Samasu. Ms. Kirby is distracted by Lonu to the point she can't see anything else even if she wanted to. Juudai is too distracted and too caught up in his other friends first and foremost.
