::Are you familiar with the phrase "be careful what you wish for, it might come true"? You should be, because after all the talk about ghosts, it seems there are some new residents on Duel Academy Island. Students who linger in the library or in the woods too late at night, or come too early in the morning, may find themselves staring at vaguely humanoid creatures, stark white and nearly featureless except for a pair of completely black eyes which seem to look at nothing in particular. They seem 'out of phase', partially transparent and oddly deformed in fluctuating ways, like they don't belong in this world.::

::Should a person make the mistake of staring too long, the creatures suddenly stare back.::

::Perhaps you are one such person... and perhaps you have stared a little too long... what do you do now?::

Once they start staring back though, Tadazane immediately goes into "don't make sudden movements and they won't see me" mode*

::They continue to stare at Tadazane, almost as if staring into his soul, never breaking what can only be assumed as eye contact.::

::Assumed because the longer it stares, the more of a chill runs through Tadazane's body, like a faint, coy brushing of Death itself.::

::Its body twitches, and distorts even more grotesquely, vanishing completely.::

::...only for it to reappear inches away from Tadazane's face, where it's head opens up, from crown to chin, revealing rows of shark-like teeth framing a darkness deeper than even its eyes... which it leans even closer to Tadazane, ever so slowly....::

*he freezes for a moment, before screaming, backing away quickly. Eventually tripping, but then crawling backwards on the floor to get away get away oh god*

::It poses threateningly and screams right back at him, the scream of a banshee, a scream which would turn a lesser man's hair white. Fortunately it doesn't seem to pursue Tadazane any further, so he manages to get away cleanly.::

::Then Rei will just hear a odd wailing sound that seems to fade then suddenly grow louder all of a sudden like a wave.::

::Each time getting a little closer, chasing her mercilessly until she exits the forest near a building, at which point the wailing stops.::

[A better person might stop running, and turn around, and investigate why it stopped.

A greater person might turn now and confront the source of that wailing, to protect others from it.

Rei is going to keep running for that building, dive in through the first open window she sees, slam it shut behind her, and keep running further inside until she finds a place to hide.]

*Ruka is in the library reading a book quietly, but when she sees the apparition out of the corner of her eye, she looks up from the book and freezes when she realizes what she's seeing.*

::The creature stares at her for a moment, then leans it's head towards her, and opens it's vertical mouth with it's rows of jagged, razor sharp teeth, and lets out a shriek like a banshee.::

*Incredibly startled, Ruka falls backwards from the chair she's sitting on, then quickly shuffles backwards, looking quite scared*

*Whether it is or isn't, Ruka keeps on running down the hall until she runs out of breath... which is fairly quickly*

::Since Ruka didn't run very far, she might be able to hear a faint wailing sound coming from the library... joined by a few others. After a little while, even those sounds fade... and it appears nothing is coming after Ruka anymore. Indeed, should she decide to look back in the library, the creatures are all gone.::

*Ruka's curiosity does get the better of her and she does look into the library again to see there is now nothing there... but she isn't feeling brave enough to go in again, so she decides to head back to her dorm room... as quick as she can.*
