[DUEL FESTIVAL - DAY 7]

*It's the seventh day of the Festival, in the morning.

And to a lot of people's surprise, it seems like everything's getting packed up. Most of the booths and stands are closed down and getting put away, but it looks like the day's main event is still planned to commence. On the schedules everyone can access, there is only one event for the arena: "Wonder Quartet".

Up until this point, everyone assumed this to be basically a regular tournament to top off the event while everyone enjoyed their final day, but it seems like there's something more, with how hurried the organizers are.

Notably though, around the areas where screens are set up to show dueling video, online streams, and at the arena, there's two countdowns present-- one being for in a few minutes to something simply noted as "Announcement", and the other being for the oft-rumored "Wonder Quartet", a half-hour after that, starting at noon.

Best thing to do right now is to head for the arena, or watch one of the screens present or on your computer/phone/internet device of your choice.*

Wha-- over there! She's over there!

*one of the Obelisk Force members points out Yuzu, as two others go around the sides to attempt to trap her. A pincer move!*

[Yuzu looks back and forth.]

Darnit...!

[She starts to backtrack. She'll just go far back enough to get away from these guys and then cut into another area...!]

*the problem is, they're persistent, especially with three of them going after you, the only direction you can go is back towards the Crystal Realm, as they keep cutting off the routes out of the area.

... Which means the duel ends up back into focus. And you see a Thunder End Dragon wiping out a field, before trying to attack-- before being forced back by a mirror that shatters into a sharp gust of glass shards.*

[Yuzu skids to a stop once she realizes she's run out of real estate and she's back at this duel.

All she can do now is check and see how Sonia is doing...]

*despite losing Thunder End Dragon, she doesn't seem entirely deterred, as she holds out her hand*

Main Phase 2! I have two Normal monsters in the Graveyard now, so I special summon Woodland Archer from my hand! (1300 DEF) Then... tribute it for it's effect! I add Chemicritter Carbo Crab to my hand from the deck, and use the effect of my Catalyst Field to summon it! (700 ATK)

*a semi-translucent crab appears on the field, it's claws silver while it's body gold. She then turns around a card in her hand. Polymerization.*

Fusion! I fuse Carbo Crab on the field, and Labradorite Dragon in my hand! Fusion Summon! First of the Dragons! (2700 ATK)

*the two monsters swirl together, as a dragon emerges from the light, it's wings spread out. First of the Dragons specifically can't get destroyed by non-Normal monsters or monster effects, so maybe... maybe she has a chance?*

I end my turn there.

[First of the Dragons...that's good...it won't be destroyed easily...

Yuzu's arm shakes again. She grimaces and grabs it with her other hand. She looks back at the Obelisk Force, then goes back to watching the duel.]

*the Obelisk Force catch up, but then they spot who's dueling here, and they skid to a stop with nervous looks. They don't want to get in the middle of what Yuri is doing, ever, especially as he draws his card.*

Mmhm, you've done almost... Commendably, here. It's such a shame your attack didn't connect. You might've even almost won. *his LP shows up as 3000-- if Thunder End Dragon had connected, Sonia definitely would've won with that attack...!*

But it's not meant to be. I activate Predaponics, and Special Summon from the Graveyard. Predaplant Sarraceniant! (100 ATK)

*an odd... insect-like plant appears on his field. small-- as a Fusion Recycling Plant behind him lights up*

Next, I discard Lonefire Blossom from my hand to add a Polymerization card to my hand... *the card slips out of his deck, as he grabs it, not even bothering to show it. But something sounded off about how he put that...*

You think that monster of yours will protect you, right? That it'll let you survive another blow?

*Sonia's own LP shows up as 1500. She's in a bit of a worse spot, but First of the Dragons is pretty effective...*

O-- of course I do! And even if you get past it... I still have other things I can do. I won't let you go after her again!

*Sonia says this, not knowing that Yuzu's behind her, having been lead back to here. She hopes-- she hopes that Yuzu's at least far away at this point...*

It might be your protection. But to me, it's nothing but an eyesore.

So allow me to put it to better use.

*he activates a card, sending his other remaining card in his hand to the Graveyard-- Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio-- as the field seems to crackle with electricity. The space warps, sucking in Sarraceniant... but also the First of the Dragons itself, to Sonia's surprise!*

I fuse the two Dark-attribute monsters together, giving use to your monster... In order to Fusion Summon! *he brings his hands together. as something twists and stretches from the two monsters intertwining. Something familiar to you, Yuzu...*

[Yuzu's eyes widen. She quietly stumbles backwards, her hands going over her mouth again, instinctively.]

*Sonia can't help but step back as well, as the monster fully forms, it's mouths opening into wings, crying out--

But then your bracelet starts to glow, Yuzu. And in the distance, you hear something... screeching? yelling? you're not 100% sure. But the glowing is getting brighter, enough that it actually distracts Yuri from his duel.*

Just what is that--?

*... and then his words are cut off, as he glows and vanishes.*

W-- what the--? Where'd he go?!

*Sonia looks around in a panic, along with the Obelisk Force members who're equally as confused, which causes her to spot Yuzu*

W-what're you doing back here...!?

I-I...

[Yuzu is too ashamed to say she was chased back here. She also can't even really form the words after watching Yuri vanish like that. Eventually, she puts it together. His face. Her bracelet. She gulps and looks around.]

Y....Yuya?! Yuto?!

Is that one of you?!

*it starts almost barely audible. But your ears pick up something. As it gets closer and closer...*

RRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNN!!!

*Some guy, yelling that out while riding a motorcycle, suddenly barges in-- and almost lands on the Obelisk Force members, who all scatter. His bike screeches to a halt in front of Yuzu, and whoever this is-- he jumps off and jumps her in a huge hug*

Rin! I finally found you! I knew I was sent to the Ice Age for a reason!

E-eh?! Ehhhh?!

[Yuzu's hands go way up. Normally, she'd probably be telling this guy to step off or shoving him or something, but she's just...far, far too physically and emotionally spent, so she's just blushing and throwing her hands up as much as she can.]

I-I don't...I don't understand!

I don't understand it either! I've been all over the place looking for you, Rin! Ruined cities! Islands in the middle of oceans! Deep forests, volcanos, and even here in the ice age where there's weird ice age duelists around! But none of them could even begin stand in my way, you know that!

*he finally stops embracing so tightly, a wide smile on his face as he brings up his helmet visor-- and guess who exactly he looks like, Yuzu*

We can finally go home together, Rin!

[....yyyyep, she sees it.

She still completely doesn't understand. But she's been rendered into stunned silence by looking at his face.]

*... he blinks at Yuzu's stunned expression. it isn't what he was expecting.*

Rin? What's wrong?

Uhm... Yuzu? Do you know who this guy is...?

*the guy's expression goes all "???" at hearing the name "Yuzu", as Sonia tries to break the awkwardness of this*

I-I don't know! I don't know what's going on!

Huh? How can you not know what's going on, Rin! Don't you recognize me? *he... he hasn't caught onto the idea that you're not Rin yet.

Of course, your luck kicks in again as, while he's still kinda holding onto you, your bracelet decides right now is the best time to start glowing. And he looks at it.*

Huh? What's with the lights?

Th-the bracelet, again...?! [Yuzu raises her arm up as the pink light starts growing in intensity, covering both her and Yugo.]

*... and then Yuzu and Yugo both vanish as the light dies out.

Sonia stares in shock, looking around frantically. oh geeze. ohhhhh geeze. This isn't good. This isn't good...!*
