[DUEL FESTIVAL - DAY 7]
*It's the seventh day of the Festival, in the morning.
And to a lot of people's surprise, it seems like everything's getting packed up. Most of the booths and stands are closed down and getting put away, but it looks like the day's main event is still planned to commence. On the schedules everyone can access, there is only one event for the arena: "Wonder Quartet".
Up until this point, everyone assumed this to be basically a regular tournament to top off the event while everyone enjoyed their final day, but it seems like there's something more, with how hurried the organizers are.
Notably though, around the areas where screens are set up to show dueling video, online streams, and at the arena, there's two countdowns present-- one being for in a few minutes to something simply noted as "Announcement", and the other being for the oft-rumored "Wonder Quartet", a half-hour after that, starting at noon.
Best thing to do right now is to head for the arena, or watch one of the screens present or on your computer/phone/internet device of your choice.*

[Announcement]
I wish I could be announcing this next item under more exciting circumstances, but such is life. But, let us not let this earnest disappointment ruin the announcement I'm about to make. Months ago, I announced that Leo Corp with the League would be holding an event called the Wonder Quartet. Now is the time to reveal what that Tournament actually is. We said this would be an event in which all titles would be defended. All belts would be thrown on the line.
And many have speculated it would be a Single Elimination Tournament.
::His mouth curls into a smile.::
That would never be enough to sate the thirst of battle of the True Duelists who have gathered here in Domino for the Duel Festival. No, we have something much more ambitious in store for the Duelists who have assembled here! Let me introduce the true form of the Wonder Quartet!
::A holographic screen forms into the air, displaying a map of Domino City, specifically the areas of Kaiba Land, the extended Duel Festival regions, a chunk of the factory/warehouse district of town and the harbor of Domino.::
The Wonder Quartet is a giant free-for-all Duel Event, on the world's largest Action Field, ever seen. For the last year, Kaiba Corp and Leo Corp have worked together to install Real Solid Vision Generators throughout all of Domino, in order construct a Field, this field. A field of Fields. Behold, everyone! The Wonder Quartet!
::A hum cascades through the city, as a giant field, practically an entire world spreads out across the sections of the map on top. The Industrial District has been consumed by a huge Volcanic Region. The harbor has been consumed by Ice. Ice. Enough Ice to render the place Antarctica or some sort of Ice Age. Kaiba Land itself shifts, twisting and reforming into a huge series of ancient ruins. While the Duel Festival areas outside of Kaiba Land have been rendered into some long lost ancient Jungle.::
Our contestants for this event will be going out into this giant Field to collect and gather as many Special Action Cards as possible in a winner-take-all event, where you bet all of these Action Cards. And we won't allow cowardice! A person challenged in the Wonder Quartet cannot refuse, they must Duel or retire from the event! But fear not, each shall begin the event with one of these Special Action Cards, dubbed "Shards of Power".
::Reiji points as the screen switches to the Shard of Power, which is a Grey Action Card has a jewel shard with a demonic feel to it for Artwork. All of your Duel Disks alert you that you have a copy in your Graveyard.::
Losers give the winner all of their Shards of Power. More can be found, but beware, staff from Kaiba Corp and Leo Corp will be on hand to drag any hapless Duelist found to not have a Shard of Power. All Duels of value in this event require you to have a Shard of Power. But we certainly won't stop Duelists who wish to up the ante from doing so...
::The screen displays the general order of this. You must have a Shard of Power to get more Shards of Power, or it's a No Count Duel.::
And to keep track of such a monstrous field, there are Special Arenas where a higher-than-normal amount of Action Cards for the Wonder Quartet can be found. Think of them as Dungeons or Boss Rooms in a Video Game.
::The screen splits into four. Showing off four of these locations.::
For example, we have Mt. Burning Blood, the volcano at the heart of the Volcanic Zone. Mobius Castle of the Glacial Zone, a frozen palace of wonders far out in Domino Bay. The River Fortress that's taken over the river bridge. And the Temple of the Gods in the Ancient Ruins.
At the end of the Quartet, the one with the most Shards of Power, along with any titles, belts and whatever else, shall get to face me in the grand finale of the Duel Festival, putting everything they have on the line to earn the title of Action Duel World Champion!
Now, go, out into the Wonder Quartet, you have until Noon tomorrow to gather as many Shards of Power as you can, and come home the victor and challenge me for my crown!
::A buzzer sounds as the event begins.::
Re: [Announcement]
The rules state:
1) Each participant will begin with one (1) "Shard of Power" in their Graveyard. Any found in the field will be sent to the Graveyard.
2) "Shard of Power" can be found in the environment of the Wonder Quartet area, in higher concentrations in special areas, but the quickest way to gather them will be to duel.
3) If you are challenged to a duel for a "Shard of Power", you cannot refuse it. All duels will be 4000 LP. All Shards are bet in such a duel. The winner will have the total amount added to their disk automatically.
4) If you have no Shards (0) in your Graveyard, you cannot challenge another duelist for more.
5) If you are found by an LDS or KaibaCorp official moderator without a "Shard of Power" registered to your Duel Disk, you will be escorted out of the limits of the Wonder Quartet field.
6) The one who has the most registered "Shards of Power" to their disk at the end of 24 hours will be declared the winner, and will be allowed to challenge the reigning Action Dueling Champion, Akaba Reiji.
7) NEW REVEALED RULE: Intrusions on duels are allowed, but the intruder takes a 2000 LP penalty.
-- Put your all on the line and survive this Battle Royale of dueling!! --*
Re: [Announcement]
For one, anyone who checks around the borders of the area will notice there's more guards now. A sort of SWAT team with KaibaCorp's insignia on them. They're very prudent and will ask for identification before even allowing you to go past, so it seems like it'll be a hassle to get out of the area before the Wonder Quartet finishes.
But somewhere else in the Wonder Quartet area, certain people in blue uniforms are starting to make their presence known...*
((This post is to signify that Obelisk Force will be making their move now, and you can expect that this is around 8 hours after the Wonder Quartet's started. KaibaCorp's own soldiers will be keeping check around perimeter, and LDS's moderators will be informing him that they've arrived once they notice them.
You're in for a long haul, folks.))
Re: [Announcement]
((This post is to signify Team Eibon's entrance into the Wonder Quartet, after a certain witch child.))
[Industrial District - Volcano Zone]
::A huge volcanic region rolls over the factories and warehouses of Domino's main industrial zones, and along with it are eerie demonic buildings, lava filled caverns, and strange metalworks covering the area,::
Example Locations:
â– Mt. Burning Blood
The volcano at the heart of the Volcano Zone, it pretty much is the most visible thing in the Wonder Quartet, it's also probably the most hazardous field to get involved in.
â– Haunted Demon Den
A demonic temple located deep in the Volcano Zone, it is only made more ominous by the volcanic fumes and rolling lava rivers surronded the area, not mention the miasma fog.
â– The Grand Laval Workshop
A giant smithery for forging weapons, through which the rivers of lava flow.
â– Citadel of the Thought Ruler
A location straddling the Volcano and Ruins Zones, it is very obvious for anyone who has traveled to the Mental Sphere, that it is the central fortress of the Mental Sphere with the titular Mental Sphere (or a cheap knock off of it at least) hovering over the building which is half surrounded by ruins and half hangs over a fall into a river of lava.
Re: [Industrial District - Volcano Zone]
But he did end up at... basically the middle of the Volcano Zone, heading towards what seems to be the most clear landmark, a temple.
How did he end up here and not somewhere with water.*

[Alexandra eventually comes to a stop with Hibiki in the Haunted Demon Den. They were covering their escape from Obelisk Force with smoke grenades and coming to a place where there's fog everywhere to continue cloaking them from sight is probably the beast approach for the moment.
Once they've stopped, Alexandra lets Serena off her shoulders and glances over.]

[Harbor District - Glacial Zone]
::Stretching out into the bay of Domino is a huge ice filled area covering and stretching over the piers, bridges, buildings, and even some artifical islands. The entire place looks inhospitable as the wastes of the Arctic or an Ice Age.::
Example Locations:
â– Mobius Castle
A Taj Mahal esque palace, with equally impressive 'gardens' of Ice, lying far out into Domino Bay.
â– Shooting Starlight Spaceship
In the middle of the field is a giant tilted and obviously wrecked giant snowflake shaped UFO.
â– Land of Frozen Flames
A land of strange ice sculptures with lava and fire flowing underneath the ground, split and shattered, it borders Volcano Zone.
â– Crystal Realm: End of the World
An ice-crystal-covered arena that's taken over one of the artificial islands. with spotlights and audience stands higher up that look down onto the stage, the area is in perpetual night as stars overhead that especially reflect off of the ice.

Clearly, this is an ideal strategy. He's going to let everyone exhaust themselves, then swoop in on the survivors of the initial fray. The boy is cunning and dangerous. He definitely hasn't been bullied into this by the various people holding his leash.

[Duel Script]
Re: [Harbor District - Glacial Zone]
*Shirou mentioned this as he walked through the simulated snow that soon turned into tundra, hearing the ground crunching beneath his steps. Fortune Tune stayed on his shoulder, giving out a small tweeting sound, but looking ahead straight as an arrow from his request. He felt like he was still in Domino-- the buildings around from Fortune Tune's vision seemed right, but everything was so different, he wasn't sure what happened.
Something bothered him though. He could tell a lot of presences were around, almost stretching out across the expanse of the area-- some closer. some much farther-- almost encouraged by the new landscape. He could tell that Yuma and Yuya were here, even if they weren't close, and he felt like that either of them would be his best shot for finding his way out.
But something bothered him about the one who'd usually be the latter. Something felt off once he picked up on where Yuya might be... but he couldn't place what it was. He had to get much closer.
It didn't help either when he picked up on a lot more presences suddenly appearing, too, and that worried him even more.
He just wished he could move faster than his current pace...*

Re: [Harbor District - Glacial Zone]
*At the land of the frozen flames, Yuya is navigating his way through the strange ice sculptures and over the fire and lava channels that split the ground.
He and Gongenzaka had gone to the Volcano Zone to search for Yuzu, but knowing the areas were just too vast, they decided to split up, with Gongenzaka staying in the Volcano Zone to search, while Yuya moved to the neighbouring Glacier Zone, promising that if one of them found Yuzu, they'd contact the other and re-group.
The sudden change from incredibly hot temperatures, to cold, was incredibly jarring, but that wasn't going to stop Yuya.
He needed to do whatever it took to find Yuzu.*

[Festival Area - Jungle Zone]
::The entire area of the greater Duel Festival Grounds and the main park of the city has been consumed by a jungle and wetlands, humid, moist, and murky and thick with vegetation. The booths and erected buildings have been converted into wooden huts and shamble river-sided piers.::
Example Locations:
â– Amazoness River Fortress
A fortress overlapping a bridge in the middle of the Jungle Zone, it has become a jungle river bridge-fortress, armed with traps, and boats on both sides.
â– Closed Forest
The ominous mist covered heart of the Jungle Zone's 'heart of darkness'. The trees here have grown in too much together, grown too close, grown too deep, and the entire area looks like a path to a darker ugly world.
â– Lost World
Domino Park has been overtaken as a Dinosaur filled Lost World.
â– The Wintry Wastes
A grass and tundra covered wetland area connecting the Jungle Zone to the Glacial Zone, it's mostly easily cross-able by a road spanning the two areas, but there's an eerie batrachian-themed shrine here that can raise and lower the water levels, exposing Action Cards.
Re: [Festival Area - Jungle Zone]
But now, Kai thinks he miiight be kinda lost, as he goes around the Closed Forest area.

[Kaiba Land - Ancient Ruins Zone]
::A strange Pseudo Mediterranean Greco-Roman-ish series of ruins have taken over Kaibaland and everything it entails except for the Kaiba Corp Arena and the roads leading to the other regions. The entire zone seems to have fallen into disarray centuries ago, and looks quite hazardous.::
Example Locations:
â– Colosseum of the Ancients
You know the Gladiator Beast Field Spell, Savage Colloseum and Kaiser Colloseum? Basically an vague combination of them, a giant colosseum arena to fight in, for better or worst.
â– Temple of the Gods
A very high place, looks like it should be used for divine worship. Also a lot of stairs, so I'd be careful, or you could keep falling...
â– Ecole de Zone
A mysterious region of the Ancient Ruins, it seems to function as a Lost Woods, almost keeping any Duelists inside it until they win or lose, and sometimes even if the Duel Finishes, be careful, this place is like quicksand.
â– The Lost Towers of Aether
Ruins straddling the Ruins Zone and Jungle Zone, anyone with half a brain among the savvy can tell this is a very serial numbers-sawed-off and condensed version of the Barian's Island, except overgrown by jungle plant life.
Re: [Kaiba Land - Ancient Ruins Zone]
But around the Lost Towers area is where Landrobe has ended up at the moment, looking around at the overgrown plants.
It's... kinda impressive to see just how detailed this all is.*

Re: [Right after the event starts...]

*Standing up, he looks over at Yuzu.*
