[Event Post] Kaikori: The Eye of the Storm
::So anyone implicated with the disaster at Heartland City, you've been hurried away into Kaikori, the private gated community owned by the Wakahisa family.
It is a surreal place, caught in perpetual twilight. Resembling Ballonlea and Glimwood Tangle from Pokemon Sword & Shield, except the mushrooms are replaced with crystals growing out the ground and trees, it centers around a circle of shops and buildings including a convenience store, a gym, a small school to tutor the children of Noriko's friends and key employees, before branching out into company apartments to the south east, a motel and an inn to the west, and private homes in the North West to North to North East.
Perhaps you would like to take a break, interact with others, and breath before things likely get worse.
Fortunately, every time the government seems to come into Kaikori, they've been unable to locate Yamamoto Suzume, Wakahisa Noriko, or Mr. and Mrs. Tsukumo. So for now.
A piece of twilight paradise before things likely get so much worse.::

Re: [2/2]
::It's a thing that isn't quite any animal you know.
Maybe it's a Duel Spirit. But whatever's sitting in the tree has eyes with an unearthly intelligence and seems not threatening but definitely eerie and strange.
Its tail flicking back and forth.::
no subject
He then decides to try and communicate with it.*
Hey buddy! What ya doing?
*Kotori watches on a little nervously, not sure if interacting with it was a great idea or not.*
no subject
::The not-a-cat hisses, arching its back but it's in a defensive pose. Tail flicking defensively.::
no subject
One moment...!
*He quickly rushes off to the kitchen and returns moments later with some scraps of cooked chicken.*
You want this buddy?
*He throws a piece out of the window and on to the ground.*
no subject
::It notices and leaps down... and eats it with a... ladylike fashion, all while staring up at you, ominously.::
no subject
You can have some more if you want!
*He throws a few more pieces onto the ground.*
no subject
::It pauses for a few moments, and gathers up leaves, twigs and some rocks to form a rudimentary plate and plops the food on top of it.
And eats like a lady, making a face at you to not be a pig.::
[1/2]
It made it's own little plate and everything!
*Yuma can't seem to get beyond this just being some small creature.*
[2/2]
*Kotori, on the other hand, has absolutely noticed the intelligence it's displaying, so with a sigh, she pushes Yuma slightly aside.*
Yuma. I think we need to talk to it with more respect.
*She looks down at the creature with a smile.*
You'll have to excuse my husband.
Can I ask your name?
Re: [2/2]
::... It pauses and tries to gather what it can find and assembles the English letters
A B R A
It seems flummoxed as it ran out of stuff.::
no subject
Hang on, I'll find you something.
*She goes to the kitchen, and gathers up what she can find; Chopsticks, forks, spoons, pencils, pens... then brings them outside for the creature, setting them down and standing back, motioning that it can use them to continue.*
You can use these.
no subject
::Slides them together next to the first four.::
X I A
::It sparkles proudly that it can spell.::
no subject
Kotori crouches down a little.*
Abraxia.
That's a really nice name!
But I guess I should stick to yes or no questions from now on...
Hmm... do you live here at Kaikori, Abraxia?
no subject
::Signals yes.::
no subject
no subject
::Signals yes!::
no subject
We should introduce ourselves then!
I'm Tsukumo Kotori, and this is my husband, Yuma.
*She gestures towards Yuma who has walked up beside her.*
We're staying here at Kaikori for a little bit, though we don't know for how long.
no subject
::Twirls around and slinks around your leg to make it clear she understands and likes you.::
no subject
Awwh, you're really cute!
I'm really happy you don't mind us being here.
Can I pet you a little?
no subject
::Wags her tail proudly at being called cute.
... And then nods yes at being pet.::
no subject
*Kotori smiles as she scratches the top of Abraxia's head. You can tell on her face that this was something she needed.*
Thank you for visiting us today.
