[Event Post] Kaikori: The Eye of the Storm

::So anyone implicated with the disaster at Heartland City, you've been hurried away into Kaikori, the private gated community owned by the Wakahisa family.

It is a surreal place, caught in perpetual twilight. Resembling Ballonlea and Glimwood Tangle from Pokemon Sword & Shield, except the mushrooms are replaced with crystals growing out the ground and trees, it centers around a circle of shops and buildings including a convenience store, a gym, a small school to tutor the children of Noriko's friends and key employees, before branching out into company apartments to the south east, a motel and an inn to the west, and private homes in the North West to North to North East.

Perhaps you would like to take a break, interact with others, and breath before things likely get worse.

Fortunately, every time the government seems to come into Kaikori, they've been unable to locate Yamamoto Suzume, Wakahisa Noriko, or Mr. and Mrs. Tsukumo. So for now.

A piece of twilight paradise before things likely get so much worse.::

The other Suzume wanted me to come with her and go back home so she can turn this entire reality into compost so her Suzaku doesn't turn into a Magical Girl anime poster.
observershikou: (ah...?)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-22 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
... and why are you here, in that case?

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-22 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)

I think we should give peace and cooperation a chance, as the Eastern Empress of Japan is very 'if all you understand is hammers, everything sure looks like nails'.
observershikou: (kinda determined)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-22 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Would that even be possible? In this particular case? You mentioned something about "Suzaku turning into a poster"...

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-22 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)

Yes. I think so at least.

It just requires something that we haven't located yet.
observershikou: (... eh?)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-22 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Something that we haven't located yet?

... Can you tell me what it is?

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-22 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)

A world distinct enough from either of ours, since your world here faces its own stability problems.

Basically both our worlds need a blood transfusion due to critical errors in history and reality.

Would you like a pipe to smoke from? I find it a soothing habit.

::Smoking from her own, the long kind of pipe you'd see in something like xxxHolic::
observershikou: (ah...?)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-22 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't smoke, but I'm really considering it at the moment.

*you are a bundle of bad choices.*

So the problem is finding a world that would fix both of our problems, but it still runs into the logistical issue of "something needs to be sacrificed to ensure our stability". I know that... it's something that's been an issue, but I don't really know how one is supposed to find these other worlds in the first place...

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-22 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)

What sacrifice?

The bigger issue is opening the 'doors' to each other to the critical infrastructure is a huge pain in the ass.

And uh. I unno, you know them when you find them, I've done it a few times but it's all Elephant Test logic.
observershikou: (kinda determined)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-22 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
... be honest, if we did find this ideal world, would that world die as a result of this "transfusion", or is that just all that it is?

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-23 01:56 am (UTC)(link)

Do you think I'd suggest options that result in murder?

How long have you known me.

::Poutttttttt.::

observershikou: (ah...?)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-23 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I just... need to make sure. Because I'm trying to think-- would there really be enough "there", if you find that ideal world, to sustain three in the end?

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-23 02:07 am (UTC)(link)

It doesn't need to sustain but we need an initial burst and people from both our sides need to be able to study a world that hasn't been ripped to shreds twenty times by increasingly mad Gods and things from The Primordial Abyss or The World Unmade, or worse, The Tohu Wa-Bohu.

Or idiotic bald fascists.
observershikou: (sarcastic)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-23 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes, of course. *rubbing his temple. he sometimes wishes he didn't remember.*

Of course, I'm sure it's a bit of a "needle in a haystack" situation, right?

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-23 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)

Yup, but it's solvable. They're rarer than you think but not so rare that I'm proposing a ludicrous long shot.

The more immediate problem is the hot-headed warmongering alternate version of your wife has a really bad but justified tendency towards "All problems can be solved with the proper allocation of violence" which she has not let up since she became Empress and sank the U.S. Pacific Navy and the People's Navy of China that were sent to Japan.

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-24 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Right, of course.

... is there anything I could actually do, about that?

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-24 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)

With regards to which part, Dahling.
observershikou: (what the hell)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-24 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Mostly? The part where an alternate of my dear wife is also a mad queen who thinks anything can be solved with liberal application of, apparently, nuclear dragon.

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-24 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)

Oh she has worse things to use than the nuclear dragon. And it's unlikely you'll let 'er use another one for a long while. He needs the other four to keep Japan stable from Australia, America, Russia and China.

But I dunno, if you wanna try to talk to her, go ahead, but do you think she'd listen to a version of her husband who didn't have the balls to become Emperor?
observershikou: (kinda determined)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-25 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
*he's a little annoyed about that, but he takes a deep breath*

What's the situation that led to that "me" becoming Emperor at all?

[personal profile] the_deadlights 2024-07-25 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)

Yeah, sorry. Lesse... The hints of the resurrection of the Earthbound Immortals or Gods or what you say started happening. Our world's version of Desdemona marked you and the Obsidian Lord as a 'false positive of sorts'.

'Desdemona' from that world got the very smart (not smart) idea of killing the Dark Signers ahead of time to prevent the problems.

You basically got hanged from a thorned rose vine noose, and then impaled multiple timed by rose thorn vine lances, and burned for extra credit.

Suzume tried to stop her, she got killed.

You immediately revived from death, a lot less Shikou than before almost right after that, and your wife was the actual positive, reviving as the Dark Signer of Wiraqocha Rasca.

Uh, and your wife is currently puppeting the corpse of Black Rose Dragon as a quasi-double Signer and the Bride of the Obsidian Lord and the Empress to the One True Emperor of Japan.

Naturally, you both have Opinions on the matter.
observershikou: (being serious)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-25 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
That certainly sounds less like I had the nerve to become "Emperor", and more I got forced into the situation because the actual "Lord" awoke. *letting out a frustrated sound*

Even if there's some small part of me still operating on that end, it's more the Obsidian Lord being awakened than anything else. But... it sounds like he still has some reasoning left in him, even just a little.

Suzume, however... she was always the type to take things really far if she got the opportunity to, huh? I could use the geas... but if it doesn't work, that'd just aggravate her more, or could draw my Obsidian Lord self to here, which seems much worse.
Edited 2024-07-25 19:59 (UTC)

[personal profile] redderthanred 2024-07-25 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)

And yet, Suzume respects that authority and power. She sees it as someone with the power, using the power granted. If you have the means, you should be use it.

I'd say you're actually fairly reasonable if very 'people's heads roll if they don't get in line quickly'. Most of the madness of the Obsidian Lord is in Souha, as the Fire Lord of Kyoto.

... But yes, Suzume's... a military hot head. She gets it from her father and mother who are... right wing. She's very much a Neo Con, and views might makes right, and you're the one with the leash.

The good news is he won't lend her another Bahamut class 'golem'. The bad news is that was basically just a tinker toy in their arsenal.

::Puffing on their cigarette.::
observershikou: (ah...?)

[personal profile] observershikou 2024-07-25 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
*taking a moment to imagine Souha as someone like that... oh, dear.*

... would it make more sense then if I just tried to speak with my "self" from over there, instead?

[personal profile] redderthanred 2024-07-25 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)

In theory?

But the new Imperial Palace is heavily guarded and Suzume might light us both on fire, or have the zombie of Black Rose Dragon do it for her.

And I feel like it'd be a lot easier to talk after we stop my Suzume.
