[DUEL FESTIVAL - DAY 7]

*It's the seventh day of the Festival, in the morning.

And to a lot of people's surprise, it seems like everything's getting packed up. Most of the booths and stands are closed down and getting put away, but it looks like the day's main event is still planned to commence. On the schedules everyone can access, there is only one event for the arena: "Wonder Quartet".

Up until this point, everyone assumed this to be basically a regular tournament to top off the event while everyone enjoyed their final day, but it seems like there's something more, with how hurried the organizers are.

Notably though, around the areas where screens are set up to show dueling video, online streams, and at the arena, there's two countdowns present-- one being for in a few minutes to something simply noted as "Announcement", and the other being for the oft-rumored "Wonder Quartet", a half-hour after that, starting at noon.

Best thing to do right now is to head for the arena, or watch one of the screens present or on your computer/phone/internet device of your choice.*

::The entire area of the greater Duel Festival Grounds and the main park of the city has been consumed by a jungle and wetlands, humid, moist, and murky and thick with vegetation. The booths and erected buildings have been converted into wooden huts and shamble river-sided piers.::

Example Locations:

■ Amazoness River Fortress
A fortress overlapping a bridge in the middle of the Jungle Zone, it has become a jungle river bridge-fortress, armed with traps, and boats on both sides.

■ Closed Forest
The ominous mist covered heart of the Jungle Zone's 'heart of darkness'. The trees here have grown in too much together, grown too close, grown too deep, and the entire area looks like a path to a darker ugly world.

■ Lost World
Domino Park has been overtaken as a Dinosaur filled Lost World.

■ The Wintry Wastes
A grass and tundra covered wetland area connecting the Jungle Zone to the Glacial Zone, it's mostly easily cross-able by a road spanning the two areas, but there's an eerie batrachian-themed shrine here that can raise and lower the water levels, exposing Action Cards.

There's the feeling of being watched, Kai. If glanced at, there's bright orange eyes stalking you in the darkness. A low growl like a gigantic jungle cat.

There's a wild screech as you might expect the worst to leap out. But it's far worse than a huge monster.

Trendafilka's landed in a low crouch in front of you.

*Sylvia ended up going to Domino Park since it's semi-important to her and she wants to see what a weird AR thing in that would be.

She's pretty jazzed about the dinosaurs everywhere before realizing she should be terrified.

She's wondering around aimlessly, probably forgetting she has to duel.

::Parked in the middle of a jungle grove between two Olmec Heads is a Samasu. With a booth. With a truck behind her. You can't enter the truck. Because she has keys. The booth has a sign on top reading "Essentials" (with a second sign reading "This is a Conflict Free Area". So it might be best to not Duel here or else you might get in trouble.)

A sign board next to the booth lists DP & Yen prices:
• Food
• Water
• Changes of Clothes
• Energy Drinks
• "Lines of Credit"
• And being able to turn in a Shard of Power for Cards.

But frankly though, the attendee's mostly playing games on her smartphone.::

*Yuya is in the Jungle Zone, somewhere on the outskirts of the Closed Forest. He's searching around in the bushes and other foliage, trying to find more of these 'Shard of Power' Action Cards.

To be honest, he's glad he has this task to focus on. It's helping him keep his mind off the events of the previous day and the guilt he's feeling over it.*

[The NADL United States Champion, Clint Richter, has been out of the dueling spotlight for a while, now. His duel with Vesik ended in him suffering a mild cardiac episode that forced him to take a hiatus to get better. Unfortunately, he couldn't make it back in time to set up a duel for the Duel Festival, but he's all ready to go for this Wonder Quartet.

And, y'know, Vesik's not around. He's pretty happy about that.

His wife Natalie is with him. She made a big deal about medical risks and liability of forcing Clint to go into a setting like this alone and blah, blah, blah but really, the reality is, the two of them just didn't feel like being apart for the entirety of this event. Look, she's kissing him on the cheek right now. Degenerates.

Anyway, they're hanging out in the Lost World, getting a look at all of the dinosaurs. It's just like Jurassic Park! Oh wait, that's the point of the name, isn't it.]

[In the middle of the Closed Forest, the air suddenly grows thicker. The ground rumbles, the Real Solid Vision distorting briefly. Before suddenly, the ground beneath the solid vision splits open and a white portal rises out of it.

A woman steps out. Not far behind her is a pink butterfly. The portal vanishes behind them. Both of them look....surprised.]

"I thought we were going home! This is a jungle!"

This is home! I'm sure it is! [She looks around, lips pursed.] I...think...it is.

"Isabelllllllll...!"

Just -- just shut up and help me open up the gate again! We gotta get back as soon as possible! [She's pulling a stone out of her pocket.]

*gradually through the Jungle Zone-- and other zones as certain people spread out, the sounds of screams and things blowing up start to be heard, luring more people to the sources, be it out of concern, or curiosity...*

*As he moves through the Jungle Zone, looking around for more Shards, he hears an explosion and screams in the distance making him look up with concern.
Maybe it could be from a duel, but it sounded incredibly harsh, even for real solid vision.

With that, he starts to move curiously in the direction the sounds came from to see what was happening.*

*well, for fairness Yuya, you do technically find a duel-- multiple duels in fact. But once you focus upon what you find, you may argue the definition of this being a duel at all. A group of people in blue uniforms and strange masks have their duel disks activated, the hard light forming into a sword-like shape, as mechanical dogs chase around other participants-- and most disturbingly, the ones that get stopped in their tracks get covered in a strange light from their attackers' disks, and what's left is... a card.

*About an hour after this thread, Yuya finally begins to regain consciousness.
Opening his eyes, and blinking them a few times to help them focus, he looks up and around from where he is laying as his senses gradually come back to him, allowing him to see where he was and who was around him.*
